Question 3: Who is being left behind in the digital era and what can we do about it?
People who are left behind in the digital era are mostly made up of old people, those who live in places such as forests and mountainside (no internet access or accessible electronic/digital equipments/gadgets), poor people (notably, Africa) and people who are ignorant/oblivious to the digital world. This could also be associated with the term 'Digital Divide'.
We can help reduce the number of people who are 'left behind' by promoting awareness of the importance of internet and digital media usage. This method might seem common or cliche but I believe educating people about 'something' via awareness is one of the most effective ways to make said people realise the significance about said 'something'. When we 'teach' people (especially senior citizens-that-still-possess-a-sharp-mind and oblivious/ignorant people) about the benefits and importance of digital media or the internet, they could be coerced out of their comfort zone to explore the many intricacies of the digital world.
When it comes to poor people living in poor countries or people who live in places where there is no access to digital media, helping them would not be an easy task. Nonetheless, it is not impossible. Big organisations that are IT-related could help provide these people with digital access/media besides providing them with IT lessons. This will be a very 'slow and long process' but it could help these people catch-up with today's digital era.
In conclusion, people who are left behind by the digital era could be helped and it is a situation that could be improved by using the right or feasible methods.
